Our visual arts program allows our Trojans to express themselves creatively
From their early years, students learn the fundamentals of creative thinking and the habits necessary to construct imaginative and unique works of art; the discipline in handling materials when using their sketchbook and creating projects provide meaningful art experiences that become a way of thinking.
Students are introduced to various aspects of art through hands-on creative activities, and problem solving through a variety of tools, in order to stimulate, develop and refine critical ways of thinking. Students will learn to critique art and develop skills for observation, interpretation, and design. They will also become familiar with a wide range of artists and historical art movements.
The results of our visual arts program at Lincoln School are grouped into four areas:
- A: Knowledge and Understanding.
- B: Application
- C: Analysis and Evaluation
- D: Artistic awareness and personal engagement
