Students think up a project to instruct women in entrepreneurship
10 organizations support the initiative
Lincoln School will give certificates at the end of May
Natalia Chavarría and Karina Knohr, 11th grade students at Lincoln School, began the sketches of a social well-being work that is currently starting to materialize.
With the support of Lincoln School, the project "Develop and enhance your entrepreneurial mindset" partnered with 10 non-governmental organizations to make it come true. This initiative aims to train vulnerable women on entrepreneurship.
Since last April, a group of 30 women have received a course in which they explore their strengths and acquire basic knowledge of administration, marketing and finance that will allow them to develop initiatives for a product or service to start their business.
Sara Estrada, Director of Innovation at Lincoln School, explained that Babson College's entrepreneurship educational model was adapted to be taught to these women in a 20-hour, five-week program.
Estrada said that Lincoln School teachers provide the training virtually to the students, who go to the Colombian Embassy to receive lessons and materials.
Our students share their thoughts on the scope of their project and admit that they are proud to see the impact it has had on the lives of other women.
