EIS men's team and PAS women's team obtained gold
For 3 days athletes from El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and our country participated in the AASCA Basketball tournament on Lincoln School campus.
A total of 8 delegations, 12 teams and 200 athletes were part of the face-to-face return of this sports competition after 2 years of pause due to the pandemic. Under strict protocols and following AASCA guidelines, athletes and parents enjoyed the tournament ina a safe environment.
The effort and dedication of the players was notorious in each game, where respect prevailed. The intensity of the games in the final rounds thrilled spectators, scores with close distance and even extra time were necessary to decide the winners.
In the female category, Pan-American School and Escuela Internacional Sampedrana (HON) competed for first place. It was a high-voltage match that was tied in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, forcing overtime. Finally, the "let's go Pana" prevailed to give the first gold medal to the Costa Rican team.
The teams that participated in the women's category are:

In the male branch, the Sampedrana International School (HON) and the Panama International School (PAN) faced each other for the first placed. The Sampredranos began easily dominating the game, however, the ISP woke up and closed the gap on the scoreboard adding excitement to the final. Marian Baker School |
Country Day School |
Pan-American School |
International School Panama (PAN) |
Escuela Americana Salvador (ES) |

In the case of Lincoln School, it is the first time in 30 years that the men's team has managed to enter the podium. Both representations, female and male, obtained a bronze medal in this edition of AASCA.
We congratulate our Trojans, we know that this was a result of their commitment and dedication in a process of months of training alongside with coach staff. Let's go Trojans, let's go!
Another nice experience of this AASCA was the Trojan sportscaster team debut. Felipe Segares, Juan Pablo Gonzalez, Antonio Melendez and Alberto Esquivel hosted each game with an original style enjoyed by the audience during the live broadcasts.
At the end of the day, the award ceremony was full of joy and friendship among the sports delegations in recognition of the dedication of each participant in the competition.
