She was chosen among 800 children, established a connection with the character that allowed her to develop empathy, and overcame the challenge of memorizing a script in a short time.

For Valentina Cañas, a 6th-grade student, recording the movie ¡Mi papá es un Santa! was a fun experience that allowed her to meet talented people. Beyond the laughs and cool moments, she explains that through role-play she was able to understand the difficult situation that thousands of children experience while facing parents’ divorce.

Support from Lincoln School

Valentina's first interaction with acting happened several years ago, with Les Miserables school play. There she experimented with costumes and the thrill of performing in front of an audience.

“When I was in first grade there was “Les Miserables ”… I went and did auditions, I was dressed up and I was very excited. Then they called me and told me that they would give me the part, I really liked it ,” Valentina said.

During recordings, Lincoln School had flexibility with class schedules allowing Valentina to attend to her commitments as an actress, something that she deeply values and appreciates.
