Lincoln School embraced the greatness of the colors white, blue and red by celebrating the 200th anniversary of Costa Rican independence.
For four days dozens of civic and patriotic activities took place on campus with the intention of celebrating the Bicentennial. Dyalá Jimenez, former Minister of Foreign Trada and Lincoln alumnae, was the guest of honor at the "acto cívico," and she shared a wonderful, consiliatory, and inspiring speech. During this national celebration, we were accompanied by fellow Costa Ricans who have excelled in different areas, and who shared messages of inspiration with our students. We invited them to chat with us in a space we called "Tertulias con café y tamal" and we were honored with the participation of an olympic gymnast, a filmmaker, a composter, a photojournalist, an artist, and an expert in tourism.

The joy and excitement of the independence holiday spread to every member of the Lincoln community. Each school division celebrated it in its own way but maintaining Costa Rican essence and idiosyncrasy.
