A celebration of holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas brought together dozens of Lincoln families in the ‘Tis The Season 2.0 caravan.
The activity took place last Saturday, and had the participation of at least 60 families who came with their cars displaying decorations alluding to these special dates. Some people even dressed up in costumes and put all their creativity on display. In the parking lot, three stations were installed to receive our visitors. The first station was related to Halloween with the Laugh & Scares tunnel. There, Oliver and Winston (Manuel Mancía, Athletics Director), and other members of the team received the families and gave them candy.
The second station was dedicated to Thanksgiving, where families were entertained by the occurrences of Gilberth Salazar, Dean of Middle School Students, who wore a turkey costume. This station also had the presence of Waldo (Dr. Daniel Allen, General Director), a scarecrow (Sandra Mora, Student Life Director), and Tiger (Scott Garren, High School Principal).
The third station was designed to celbrate the December holidays, where Santa Claus (Ryan Bunker, Dean of Students), Mrs. Claus (Faride Chinchilla, Human Resources Generalist) and an elf (Ana Acon, Admissions Coordinator) said goodbye to our visitors.
The decoration of the stations and the holding of the event was possible thanks to the efforts of more than 20 members of our staff, who organized themselves into teams and distributed tasks to ensure the success of the caravan.
Double purpose
Besides giving our Lincoln community an option to get out of the routine, this activity had the noble intention of helping people in need. At two stations, non perishable food and gifts were collected to be donated to families going through difficult times.
With the help of our entire community, we collected 10 kg of food, as well as 9 bags full of toys that will bring joy to many families.
